In response to public demand CHI has developed an adaptor kit allowing customers to have a greater choice in inlet maifolds. Customers now have the added advantage and flexibility of being able to order the 3V heads to suit either 2V or 4V inlet manifolds at no extra cost to the end user.

US translation for "to suit"

I didn't know there was a 4V intake that fits the old heads.

So what you are saying is.... you now have an adapter to make them fit say a Holley Strip Dominator or other 4-V manifold like the Blue Thunder?? The major draw back for me on these heads was having to spend who knows how much to have my 4-V manifold epoxied to fit these heads. When these heads first came out I seriously enquired about them but when I discovered that they would not fit any of my 4-V manifolds so I passed on them. The articles I have read on them does say they will fit all existing 4-V extractors and manifolds, but they want... without, well you know now..

4V manifolds

Kirk, when making these heads we chose to develope a port that reflected the trend with 4V heads at the time, which was, most people we had consulted with were fiting tongues and downsizing their inlet ports. The original size of a 4V port was designed 30 years ago, and recent developments have shown it to be to big for even the stoutest of race engines. However if you feel there is a benefit in keeping your ports at their original size, your 4V manifolds do fit, and you always have the option of "port-matching" the heads to suit the manifold.
